The 2020 Mummers Festival

is Going Virtual!

For 11 years, the Mummers Festival has hosted a series of events and workshops all leading up to our signature Mummers Parade. We have welcomed thousands to come make a hobby horse or ugly stick at one of our workshops, to get entertained or learn something new at one of our events or talks, and come to our Rig Up, the Province’s largest dress-up party. Participation is the key to enjoying this Festival!

In 2020, we have to do things a little differently  but rest assured we’ve made it easy to participate! We will deliver our popular workshops virtually in real time, and our talks and presentations will be a combination of reduced capacity audiences with simultaneous Zoom streaming.

Our Mummers Parade will have the biggest change, but we're inviting people from all over Newfoundland and Labrador, all over Canada, even all over the world to get involved.

And, as always, we're committed to offering you our workshops and programs FREE OF CHARGE!

Explore our website to find out more. Check out our Event Schedule, and read all about our lineup for 2020.

Covid-19  won't stop a bunch of determined mummers! We look forward to your participation!

The Art of Mummering

For 2020, we decided to mix things up a bit and chose the theme 'The Art of Mummering'

For two weeks, we'll explore all the many ways that mummers and the mummering tradition appear in art and influences the work of artists of all genres. "What kind of artists," you ask?

Well, we've got felt artists, digital artists, photographic artists, theatre artists, musical artists, even a chainsaw artist! And more besides!

Join us from November 28 to December 12 and be part of the fun!

Call for Submissions!

The 2020 Mummers Parade has to go virtual this year, but we want EVERYONE to participate in making it happen.

From November 1 to December 1, we are asking for video submissions of everyone doing their bit of mummers foolishness.
