Every Christmas season in Newfoundland and Labrador sees the arrival of various strange characters, from colourful disguised mummers, to snock-jawed hobby horses, to St. Stephen's Day visitors clutching a bird on a stick. But this province isn't the only place where these curious things happen.
Join folklorist and author Dale Jarvis for an exploration of some of Christmas's strangest traditions, and learn about the similarities between our celebrations and the old customs of Ireland.
Presented in partnership with the Benevolent Irish Society
