Free!

Suggested donation is

$10 per Ugly Stick Kit

The ugly stick has played a role in Newfoundland party times throughout the years. It’s about four feet long, on which bottle caps, tin cans, small bells and other noisemakers are attached. Add a boot at the bottom and you're good to go! It is played by thumping the stick, and striking its attachments with a "saw"--a notched stick that really gets those bottle-caps rattling!

This year we are offering  two Virtual Ugly Stick Workshops.

We are preparing free material kits so participants can join us online from the comfort of their own homes! Please register for on of our workshops on the links provided in the sidebar (or at the bottom of the page on your mobile device).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Once you register we will email you to arrange for contactless pick up at the Victoria Park Poolhouse in St. John's. (Unfortunately we are unable to deliver or have kits available outside St. John's.)

Material kits are limited and based on first-come, first-served.

One (1) Ugly Stick Kit per family. We want to spread those kits around!

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide large numbers of kits to community groups or organizations. To determine if we can  accommodate  your small group, email us at info@mummersfestival.ca

Workshops are free. Donations to the Mummers Festival are always appreciated.

Material kits will include everything you need except a boot or sneaker, hot glue gun and glue sticks,  hammer, screwdriver, and any additional decorations you may want to add!

Join us online for your Zoom webinar workshop, and follow facilitator Ryan Davis as he teaches you how to build your very own ugly stick!

This workshop is perfect for the whole family! A supervising adult for each  child under 16 years of age is highly recommended.
